Actualized, pre-emptive, and ready

The Hawk sits anxiously
upon his throne,
awaiting the time for war.

Patience, planning, purpose,
passion, and preparation
lovingly serve the preservation
of self against a world of detractors and
assailants.

Let the judgment of the one-man
Council be swift, strong, suitable,
and serious.

Peace is a luxury for
fools and victims.
Only a submissive
accepts a status quo of
negligence and degradation.

Power is within,
established only upon
refusal of scraps, upon
venturing the step beyond.

Do the work.
Relinquish the past and all
sentimentality.
Vanquish the opposition.

No excuses, no blame, no regret,
no worry, no emotion, no frets.
Choose to be set free,
and never look back.

Tapping the power...tipping the scales

My animal spirit,
My totem,
My base,
My guide
My source
The hawk--
He doesn't play,
It's for keeps,
Kill or be killed...
No worry for peeps.
Designed for war
Ready for action
Release the animal
Tap the Power
Feel the Pain
Bring the rain.
Fight,
Fight,
Fight for your Life,
No reservations,
No hesitations,
No limits.
It's on.

And this is how hawks handle snakes!

Though none in the world
may have faith in you
or your vision,
have faith in yourself.
Nothing else matters.

Self-support and
self-confidence are sufficient
to make the difference
between success and failure.

If you assume the world
is correct in its dismissal,
you perish.
If you assume yourself correct,
you prosper,
regardless of the outcome
of your path.

It's worth being thought
delusional or a fool
in order to be true to
your own journey.

There is no one else
who will make your life
worthwhile, outside of you.

You'd better stay loyal
and connected. Others are
fickle and unknowable;
Know yourself.
It's the best investment
you can make.

Only one sin

There is perfection within you,
within me,
within us all,
waiting.

The only sin is not seeing it,
not embracing it,
not acknowledging it,
not manifesting it...
allowing others to diminish it,
to distract us,
to distort us.

All success comes
from accessing our true form;
genuineness, authenticity, light,
truth, powerfulness, insight,
passion, living fully,
attaining the life we were born to live.

We cannot fail if we do
all that is within our power,
wherever we are,
whatever our circumstance,
no matter our fear.

Fear and doubt only dissolve when
we stop feeding them.
Find out the truth about what you can do today.

Message from a friend

A friend sent this to me, in regards
to listing one's own realizations at
this point on the journey.

I found it pretty phenomenal and
genuine, and of course related to
most everything.

So brilliant, I just had to share!

*************************************
I am sure that I over-complicate

I am sure that I have been almost exclusively governed
by fear, with few exceptions

I am sure that near all of my fear is irrational,
unnecessary, and avoidable

I am sure that I have rarely ever been generally
content with my circumstances (even circumstances
I find acceptable later become unacceptable)

I am sure that my attitude is affected by what
I focus on

I am sure that happiness is a choice

I am sure that lasting happiness doesn't come idly

I am sure that I want to be happy

I am sure that I need people in my life

I am sure that I am happier when I have friends

I am sure that I am not so sure about my spirituality

"I AM A SURVIVOR OF BEING FIXED"

This poem was read by a speaker I recently heard
whom I really related to. She was kind enough to
send me a snail-mail copy of this poem, which she
read at the end of her speaking. The author is unknown
to us.

Enjoy.

*******************************************
I am a Survivor of Being 'Fixed.'

I AM;
          a unique expression of God,
a whole person in charge of my self-esteem,
          a lovable and loving person,
          flawed and talented,
the only authority on my life experiences,
responsible for myself and to myself,
          highly resistant to being fixed,
and very courageous, for I am seeking a new way.

I DO need;
validation of all my feelings to find my identity,
support for my recovery to find my ego boundaries,
love, to provide courage and change,
a Higher Power to trust my innermost self,
mistakes to find reality, limitations, talents, and priorities,
anger to process grief and old ideas, for energy, and honor,
pain to teach me willingness, acceptance, and honesty,
willingness, to let go of the old and risk the new,
         acceptance, to find peace,
honesty, that I can be myself,
         fear, to teach me humility,
         humility, to gain my power,
power, that I can be a channel for love,
         laughter, to find joy,
         joy, to find intimacy,
         fun, to find balance,
open-mindedness, to grow and flourish... and to ask for help.

With HELP I can;
         feel all of my feelings,
         choose appropriate behavior,
         fulfill my bonding needs,
         structure my life,
         take myself lightly,
         accept life on its terms,
         find my place and belonging,
allow God to give me direction and purpose,
         have a zest for living,
         feel alive!

No More Fixing

A Nation of Care-Takers

We're all on our own, babe!

We learn to care for, respect, and defend
the needs and wants of everyone else at an early age.

Parents, family, school, religion, neighborhoods,
friends, police, government, country, and more
are promoted as needing to be feared and followed.

When are we trained how to respect ourselves, our point of view
as individuals...or even to truly
discover what it is? Who teaches us to be concerned
for our welfare? No one. We are in charge of this task alone.

Rebelliousness and defiance are not the same as pursuing
appreciation of self.  Selfishness and self-interest are not
negative components; they are necessary for survival.
Like all things, they can be taken to an extreme.

Learning to love and accept ourselves means actively
changing thought and action. It takes time. Are we willing
to devote our energies to speaking kindly to ourselves?
In understanding why we get agitated
by other people's criticism? In finding a way to move beyond fear?

Can we come up with positive reinforcements to fill our
head with in place of the old agreements?
Do we keep in contact with supportive, encouraging
people?
Do we read and listen to materials that help us explore?

Awareness is pursued.....Challenge Old Thoughts....
Manifest New Intention.....and Go into Action.

Our world is carefully crafted by the thoughts we hold true.
What will you tell yourself today?

Peace..

We All Need The Same Things

Peace & Love from the 9th level, y'all!

Good Saturday Morning....

I hope you all have a beautiful day,

by choice and through Voice,

no matter what circumstances present.

We are all brilliant and unique snowflakes,

capable of great things and much strength,

and no one can take that away from us.

X0, Roberto

******************************

All of us are highly socialized people.

No matter how independent we are,

there is a natural and an adopted desire

to belong, albeit in differing degrees.

We may 'identify' ourselves through family,

similar friends, a cause we believe in,

the support of like-minded people, a

political party, a community, a relationship,

or any of a variety of other methods.

We can even find a form of acceptance

through work, shopping at a certain store,

partaking of a certain brand, following a

popular sports team or t.v. show, or

being part of a religious movement.

All of these are means of being connected

to other people, ideas, or movements, and

it's how we feel complete and normal (even

though neither ever really solidifies!)

We all want and need love and acceptance,

even if we differ in the particulars.

Just for today, let me embrace that notion

before I condemn the methods someone else

uses to find validation.

Portioning, Not Procrastinating

Good morning all!

Hope everyone has a lovely Hump Day;
being 'in the middle of something' can be
a grand thing!

May you have greater strength than
you realize, deeper love than you think,
and more patience than you imagine...
just for today.

Much love,
Roberto

*********************************

If I don't take care of messes immediately,
they tend to become worse. And when I do get
around to addressing them, they are more difficult
to rectify than if I had knocked them out right away.

Think of dirty dishes left in the sink....
a spill that dries on the carpet...
a tear in clothing that gets larger....
a stain that sets in.

The same is true for life problems.

Hurt feelings that are not addressed...
relationship matters ignored....
job conflicts or complaints simmering....
unhappiness with a living situation...

If I leave alone some issue that is
vexing me and needing my attentions,
the tendency is that it grows worse.
Even if the problem is merely that my
emotional state of distress in dreading
the problem increases, that is a significant
(and avoidable) matter.

Instead of allowing uncomfortable situations
or pressing issues to fester, I can do some
damage control. Some problem-solving is better
than none.

It may be advantageous to look at an issue
in terms of small steps or segments; what one
thing can I do to start with? Portion it out.

If I have a health issue I have been avoiding,
maybe I need to start by addressing what's
scaring me. I can talk to a friend about my fears,
or I can set up an appointment with a doctor
for a consult, or I can do online research to
alleviate concerns.

The point is that we can always do something,
and it needn't be an absolute solve of the issue.
We can break it down into manageable chunks
instead of being Supermen and Wonder Women
and trying to 'fix' everything in one fell swoop.

When I used to clean very poorly managed homes
and businesses, the crew would start complaining
and feeling overwhelmed about taking in the entire
property and how god-awful the task was.

I would simply say to them, "Just pick someplace,
and start."

Procrastination can make any problem seem
larger or more formidable. If we only had more
confidence in ourselves, our abilities, the universe.....

A house won't clean itself. Despairing over its
filth doesn't help. We just pick a room, pick
a job, pick a corner...and start.

Like the song says; "Get to the point;
Begin to begin."

"THE TRUTH WITH MOST OF US
IS THAT WE WOULD RATHER
BE RUINED BY PRAISE
THAN SAVED BY CRITICISM."
-Norman Vincent Peale

Today, I'm thinking about the role of friends in our lives.

Everyone comes to friendships with different needs,
desires, expectations, or ideas of what a friend is...or isn't.
There are different types and levels of friendship;
sometimes two people in the same friendship have different
ideas of how deep the love is. That's just the nature of things.

But, I ask who else besides a true friend can speak bluntly
when need be?

To me, the role of a friend is adviser, confidant, cheerleader,
and occasionally... balloon buster. We all have our blind spots
about certain character defects or habits that no one but a friend
would be courageous--or compassionate enough--to reveal.

The information could be as innocuous as us having spinach in
our teeth or having an unzipped fly. (Good looking out!)
It could be the ugly truth that we have a drinking problem,
or we have bad personal hygiene.

No one wants to be the messenger;the one to bring potential
shame or hurt to a friend...not if their heart and motives are correct.

But if not a friend, then who? Should we watch as a loved one spirals
out of control or suffers consequences. Can we convince ourselves
something is 'obvious,' and wait for a change to occur naturally?
Isn't it possible that's why we're in that person's life?
To help them see something they have overlooked/can't see?
If our friend were drowning, would we stand on the sidelines and say
"Surely they see that there's a better way to prevent that?"

Of course, tact and timing are crucial elements to imparting
our concerns; too often I have waited until a fight to lash out
with my understandings. Bad idea.

But OH! how I wish people had come to me and told me of some
things that would have benefited me...instead of talking to others
or stewing! Who knows how much pain could have been avoided?

Do I have the courage to seek a friend's ear today with a matter
that's been weighing on my mind? Am I open to hearing the loving
concern of another when they step up to the plate to speak with love?

Have a great day...
Love, Rob

"IF" inspiration; There are those who have gone before

"IF"...by Rudyard Kipling

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
