"I am deserving of love...
I am worthy of love...

I am in love with myself...
I love my life...

I am beautiful...
I am capable...

I'm sexy....
I'm wonderful..."

---

If you can't say these things to yourself,
about yourself, without pausing or laughing
or countering with 'exceptions' and criticism...

perhaps consider saying these affirmations to yourself
a few dozen times every day...

until the reality sets in
and they're no longer empty words,
but rather your belief system.

You can't wait for someone else
to tell you what you need to hear.

Changing the Dynamic

I AM PEACE...
I AM PROSPERITY...
I AM PROTECTED...
I AM PERSEVERING...

Step through the fear
Stop settling for less than
Shine your light
Let no man stand against you

BREATHE DEEP,
RELEASE,
REALIZE NEED,
ASK,
BE OPEN,
RECEIVE

It is within.

Credit Where Credit Due

I have no need of being understood by others

I am not validated by a specific means of income
nor am I only worthy when I am being 'glamorous'

My value is not supported or substantiated by
having many (or any) agree or stroke or praise me,
my appearance, my opinions, or my actions

I do not require a hefty bank account to know
that I have purpose and value to the world

I require no accolades or rewards for who I am;
knowing I have done my best is sufficient

I have much to offer the world, and the only one
who can convince me otherwise is within. I must
make the crucial decision every day to embrace
my greatness and act upon my unique vision

I love my body, my mind, and my soul exactly as
they are and as an integrated, whole, and perfect
system. I am a part of the Universe, and have a
crucial role to fill.

My views and understanding are comprehensive,
no matter how many others disagree or how fervently
they try to berate me.

I embrace a new and positive life for myself, free
from old expectations, negative tapes, and the
condemning criticisms of nay-sayers in the present.

My salvation, my restoration, my transformation are
entirely mine to command, and I choose to move
forward with life.

What do we do with 'independence' now?

 Good morning, family....

At the start of another week,
let me be aware...that
Goodness, strength, and inspiration
are not specific to honored institutions,
authoritative books, powerful figures,
or hallowed halls.

Blessings and courage can be found on
the sticky-stained floors of public
restrooms, in the midst of a jeering
mob of doubters, and in those dark
moments of deepest heartbreak and fear.

Truth and light are in everything at
every time...everywhere. If I drown
out the distraction of circumstance
and fatalistic emotions, if I step outside
my dramatizing hyper-sensitivity....I can
find a center that is at peace.

I hope that we could all carry that
understanding with us today.

Peace,
Robert

Soldier

I am whole, complete, and perfect just as I am
I do not require permission to exist
nor to live my life as I am intended
I am unaffected by the ideas & actions of others

I am wholly me, without sensitivity to others'
   demands;
it is not my job to care for the needs of others.

I stand fast for my beliefs;
I am beholding to none, nor am I anyone's
   doormat.

I say what I mean
I am creative and uninhibited
I am unashamed of my true self
I let no person steal my joy

Speak your mind...
Be compassionate, but not at expense of self....
Don't buy into the lies, no matter how many
   participate...
What does it matter what another thinks?
What does it matter what another does?
Don't waste time on anger and jealousy....

Be passionate...
don't hide your love to please another....
Spare no time for meaningless pursuits...
Ask for what you need...
Risk reaching out to another....

Release burdens...don't carry them around
Fight for yourself; no one else can.

We All Need The Same Things

Peace & Love from the 9th level, y'all!

Good Saturday Morning....

I hope you all have a beautiful day,

by choice and through Voice,

no matter what circumstances present.

We are all brilliant and unique snowflakes,

capable of great things and much strength,

and no one can take that away from us.

X0, Roberto

******************************

All of us are highly socialized people.

No matter how independent we are,

there is a natural and an adopted desire

to belong, albeit in differing degrees.

We may 'identify' ourselves through family,

similar friends, a cause we believe in,

the support of like-minded people, a

political party, a community, a relationship,

or any of a variety of other methods.

We can even find a form of acceptance

through work, shopping at a certain store,

partaking of a certain brand, following a

popular sports team or t.v. show, or

being part of a religious movement.

All of these are means of being connected

to other people, ideas, or movements, and

it's how we feel complete and normal (even

though neither ever really solidifies!)

We all want and need love and acceptance,

even if we differ in the particulars.

Just for today, let me embrace that notion

before I condemn the methods someone else

uses to find validation.

Creative Visualization

The idea that the mind can alter reality is nothing new. There is still much resistance
to such a simple technique, however.

We are of a world where the physical, the immediate, the seen, and the majority are all prevalent. All else is dismissed out of hand. There is also a tendency to focus on the negative.
We are bombarded with negative imagery, talk, ideas, and people all day long.

Without proper guidance, motivation, or example, the negative seeming course of events can shape our minds. To dwell on the negative. To expect the negative. To focus on the negative at the expense of the positive. Even to interpret reality AS negative.

There is merely life; everything else, I bring to it.

One of the most damaging practices I see is to put emphasis on the road to salvation lying outside of one's self. Our betterment being dependent on the potential mercies of some supernatural existence. Salvation lies within.

Yes, there are forces and energies and things greater than us at work in the Universe. We have the ability--the choice--for those forces working either for us or against us. It isn't magic or voodoo; it's retraining the mind and emotions. We have to be open to possibility.

Every aspect of our live must undergo an overhaul. The thoughts we keep in our heads, the words we use with ourselves and others, the way we go about our day. The ideals we subscribe to, what we prioritize our energies for, the people we surround ourselves with.

Through changing my perspective on the matters at hand, the matter at hand is changed.

A death of a loved one is not an abandonment. It isn't something that 'happened' to you. It isn't part of a predetermined series of tragedies that is interfering with your life. It's the natural turn of the world; it happens. Devoid of any personal meaning.

A friendship ending is not a condemnation of your value as a person. It isn't the end of all future friendships. It doesn't make that friend a monster, or horribly wrong. It's just how things go; sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't.

The lack of permanence or consistency in life can scare us, since we've gotten so far away from embracing the natural flow of the world. We have the power to change our minds. We already alter the course of a day or events by maintaining negative, harsh, controlling, emotional stances. What could it possibly hurt to try talking to yourself without all the assumed pity, anger, resentment, criticism, and dread?
